Quick name a RB taken in the top ten that has won a Super Bowl in the past decade? 20 years? Saquon and ????? There isn’t one. Many RBs taken in the top 5 during the last two decade never made it or lost I believe in the playoffs or maybe even the Super Bowl. Adrian Petersen won MVPs and never won one. The Giants might be better with Love but to me they have other positions more important that need to be filled in the weak ass draft. Passing one Styles or Downs just to have them possibly haunt you as the Commanders pick almost right after you would suck. You know there will be a chip there. Styles is my guy at 5. Best WR available at 10 or trade down.

I think you could make the same argument about off-the-ball LB or S with the 5th overall pick. I believe Devin White is the only LB to win a Super Bowl in the last 10 years, A.J. Hawk in the last 20. RB you've got Leonard Fournette, although he won with a different team than he was drafted by (like Saquon), and Reggie Bush.

But I don't think that's a good way of looking at it. An RB, LB, or S at #5 aren't going to win a team a Super Bowl on their own. And either of those 3 positions being taken at #5 wouldn't be great "positional value" either.

But given the players that are available at the top of the draft this year, I think the Giants would be smart to take either of the 3 regardless of positional value. That's just what the market is this year.

In an ideal world, they'd be able to address their biggest needs with players worthy of the 5th and 10th picks. But those players really aren't there. So they'll need to take the best available talent. And at the end of the day, that's what they need most. An infusion of talent.

That said, I'd prefer offense be addressed. This rebuild doesn't work if Dart doesn't succeed, so you need to put everything around him that you can to help him. Love is a unique weapon that other quarterbacks do not have. He'll help take pressure off of him in so many ways, and he's unique at the position vs. past RB's who have come out, so I feel better about him than others.

Well done on th answer. I botched the question as it was with the original team that drafted them.

Haha - no worries...but you are right. Not a lot of top 5 / top 10 RBs in general going on to win SB for the team that drafted them. I just think this is a unique year and the top end talent is in position groups that aren't normally drafted high but should be this year.

Yea there’s only about 15 guys with a first round grade on them. We will see in a few more hours.
