The Packers defense is off to a scorching start to the 2025 season.
In their first two games, they shut down two of the best offenses in the league, and they did this with Micah Parsons only playing 56.6% of defensive snaps.
Not to mention, defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley still hasn’t figured out the best ways to fully take advantage of Parsons.
I don’t mean that as a criticism of Hafley. Parsons just showed up a couple of weeks ago. And while he’ll do enough on his own to wreak havoc (winning 1-on-1’s, using his high motor to win late in plays, etc.), there’s still a lot of meat left on the bone in terms of what Hafley can do with him.
Case in point, he didn’t really take advantage of the extra attention that the Commanders were giving Parsons.
Washington slid to him frequently. They chipped. The offensive line was hyper-aware of where he was on almost every snap. If there was a chance to help out on him, interior linemen would. There were a ton of plays with 2 and even 3 blockers accounting for Parsons:
