2025 Summary (W-L Record: 9-7-1)
With about 14 minutes left in the 3rd quarter of their Week 15 game against the Broncos, the Packers were sitting pretty. Not only did they have a 2-possession lead over the eventual #1 seed in the AFC, but they were 9-3-1 and seemingly in control of the NFC North.
If you were watching live, you couldn’t help but feel that this team was going to make a run to the Super Bowl.
But just 13 minutes later, their season effectively ended. Micah Parsons tore his ACL, and that sent the Packers into a swoon that derailed what could have been a special year.
Green Bay would go on to loose that game as well as their next 4. During that 5-game losing streak to end the season, they mustered just 4 total sacks.
Their defense went from being a dynamic force to something well below that:
They blew 2nd-half leads in 3 of those games during that streak, including their season-ending Wild Card loss to the Bears.
Both of their late-season losses to the Bears involved collapses in the final minutes.
That’ll happen when you no longer have your closer.
Green Bay’s run defense fell apart after that Broncos game as well. They were a top-10 unit prior to the Parsons injury, allowing 101.4 rushing yards per game. After they lost Parsons, they allowed 171.8 yards per game, including a Week 17 loss to the Ravens where they gave up a staggering 307 yards on the ground.
Injuries on the other side of the ball played a role as well. Quarterback Jordan Love missed the final 2-and-a-half games. The Packers were all out of sorts to end the season, so much so that many were calling for Matt LaFleur’s head after their playoff collapse vs. the Bears.
But to keep things in perspective, this is still a really good team entering 2026, with a really good head coach and quarterback, and a really good shot of making a run all the way to February.

Biggest Questions Entering 2026
What can we expect from the defense?
This is the biggest question with this team on so many fronts. The Micah Parsons situation is at the top of the list. It sounds like he won’t be back until mid-season. And when he does return, given the nature of the injury, there’s no telling if he’ll be his normal explosive self.
As the end of last year showed, that could be a problem.
