2024 Summary (W-L Record: 11-6)
The Packers started last season 11-4 and appeared primed to go on a run after winning 5 out of 6. Then they lost their final 2 games of the season against the Vikings and Bears. The losses dropped them to the #7 seed, meaning they had to go on the road to play the eventual Super Bowl Champion Eagles in the Wild Card Round. They lost an ugly game 22-10.
Green Bay was one of the more well-rounded teams in the NFL in 2024.
The offense was versatile and able to win in multiple ways. They ranked 3rd in net passing yards per attempt and 6th in rushing yards per attempt.
They were explosive, with Jordan Love attacking downfield as often as he could. Green Bay ranked 3rd in intended air yards per attempt and finished with the 4th most completions of 20-yards or more.

The running game was also explosive, racking up 70 runs of 10 yards or more, good for 5th most in the NFL.
Schematically, they did a little of everything. They were 4th in use of motion, 5th in screen frequency, and 10th in play-action frequency. They attacked downfield as mentioned above. They also thrived on short throws, finishing 4th in yards after the catch per completion. In the run game, they were close to 50-50 in terms of utilizing zone vs. gap schemes.
And Matt LaFleur had several moments of outstanding in-game adjustments:
In-Game Adjustments - Part 2
Good play-calling is often about taking in information during a game and making tweaks or adjustments in response. The best coaches present different looks to the defense, see how they react, and then have the flexibility to call plays or alter routes to precisely attack them.
Defensively, Green Bay was solid against the pass and good against the run (finally!). They generated the 4th most takeaways in the NFL. Under new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, they mixed in a healthy amount of disguise, were among the league leaders in use of stunts, and finished 5th in frequency of simulated pressures according to
of MatchQuarters. Like the offense, they were versatile and could win in multiple ways.Last year didn’t end well, but it was the second straight season that the Packers lost to the eventual NFC Champion. They are one of the few teams in the NFL that are capable of winning the Super Bowl this season.
